Interview: SIMONE ZBINDEN – BPERFECT – Make Up Artist

Exclusive interview with a talented make-up artist from Switzerland, which we’ve came across on Instagram.

Tell us a bit about yourself and your career in beauty.
There were some changes in my private life some years ago, I then decided to follow my dreams and pursue make-up in the creative industry. I successfully completed my education and then started to build up my portfolio.

What’s your favorite part of the job?
I love to work with other like-minded creatives. As I also work in the wedding and commercial industry, it’s always a big pleasure to get to know new people. I totally love to educate, this is one of my passions. Beside that, I love to be creative, which I totally can live out when we photograph my own concepts.

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned, and would you pass along to others just getting started in your field?
Well, I tell my students to follow their dreams. Especially in this days and age, where Instagram and Youtube make-up-artists/influencers seem to be so popular.
Most important thing is, to love what you do.

What are your favorite Summer 2018 beauty trends?
Tbh, I do not really follow trends. But I really love those powerful lips in different shades of red, combined with glowy skin, light blush and a very natural eye make-up.

What’s the one product that you have repurchased the most over the years?
I guess it is the foundations I have been using since ages.

What three makeup items should no woman leave home without?
Mascara and blush/lipstick combined in one, you see, you only need 2.

Makeup aside, what else makes you feel beautiful?
I believe that every single woman feels beautiful if she feels comfortable, no matter what size, what colour, what age she has. Also here, do not follow every single trend that you see on Instagram.
